Help: Defense of Crete Level40+

So I smash every F2P Elite quest in a short time. Que Crete and I can't even complete the Level 40+ on ten waves. Not even coming close. I know the 20 and 30 waves are even harder. I would expect to be able to do it reasonably comfortably. My opening is simple, que villies quick Age2, 1x Rax and build counters. If they start Saris I progressively get stables and alot of Camels. I generally end with about 6-8 production buildings but that not enough and my economy in such a short time cant sustain more production anyway. I build the best counter combos I can to the combos they have but still getting smashed. I can get the 30wave level 30-40 out most of the time but I struggle with the Tox opening as they 1-2hit my slingers which have a level 40 Athenas tunic of defense :/ The rewards just arent worth it in the 30-40 though so Ive got to get the 40+ consistently completed rather than not at all.

|||Just tried again on 20 waves. 8 rax, 4 stables, 6 castles. Elephants, axemen, slingers, camels @ 200 pop cap and facerolled to 0 pop cap lol. Is this even possible to do solo?

Make 4 fortress's. Send about 6-8 calvery or infantry to the north east corner of the map to intercept the siege. Build fast to build tank units, and have 3-4 peseants ready to repear during the battle. Start building more fortress's as fast as you can. The most important thing you can do is get the rock throwers the palinato's or whatever they are called. Played 1 on each cliff, 4 on the back lines and have 5 priests for healing/conversions. You dont have advisers to make fast units so you need to keep the ones you got alive. You also want atleast 50% of your army to be linemen (high hp super tanks with armor bonus's) and keep about 6 calvery back to rush priests when they appear. Your thinking like a rusher, this is a tower defence map. Think about longevity.

|||ok... what do you open with? I only have enough resources to get to age2 at the opening and I can be in trouble as early as the 5th wave, around the time I am only just getting my eco booming, but not enough time to get to age3 + castes.
