Nubian Expedition - The Fishin' Hole

Anyone who managed to complete this quest? I've played it atleast 8 times, trying different strategies and there's no way I can beat it. I'm wondering if there's not some glitch in the amount of damage the warriors do.

The longest I've gotten is 3000 / 5000, which was possible by running away with one villager with 8 stupid-AI warriors chasing it (yeah community managers, get to it). Can't really do that with the archers though - so defeat was imminent.

Another attempted strategy - Managed to get up 6 tower and a wall close to the docks I created just east of the town center - the warriors just murdered my one-time upgraded wall but I did manage to defeat the first wave of warriors by kiting them around, after the wall had been destroyed. But then, after 5 seconds of peace, the second wave with additional camel riders came and finished me off.

Any ideas?

|||I had a hard time with this quest as well and tried similar strategies to yours. Then I decided to switch it up and I just went mass triremes to try and stop his transports from coming in, he managed to get 2 waves of units in, but by then I had my ships ready and I just made sure they were kited within range of my ships which took them out, then just take out both docks and control the 2 AI dock areas and theres nothing it can do and you are free to tech up in peace. About 6-7 triremes should easily do the job.

I spent an hour or 2 trying to beat it. The trick is to realize that you're going to die. The enemy mobs act as sort of a timer. Basically the idea is to get some fishing boats out and gather the 5k food before your forces get destroyed.

Here's what I did.

• There is a bay in the lower half of the map with a large number of fishing spots.
• Had my villagers gather wood while one builds a dock in the bay.
• Then I start building fishing boats
• Then I have that villager build a house
• Then another dock
• Then more fishing boats
• Then I move my villagers that were gathering wood near the town center to gather wood near the dock (Its a drop off point)
• While I keep building fishing boats I send one villager to gather gold
• Then I build a Trieme to kill the warriors
• I keep repeating this strat until I win

I agree its a poorly designed quest. Just think of the enemy mobs as an enrage timer. You would think that you would have the most trouble from the enemy navy but as long as you stay in the bay its a non issue. While the quest is now a source of easy xp and gold for me, its still a poorly designed quest.
