sandstorm (egyptian quest)

[:1]

i have issues completing this quest i usually get overrun when 5-6 mins remain when a huge mass of axe, pikes and the first elephant crushes into the base.

i just dont see a solid counter for this in age 2 please help

|||

i got overrun also but then the AI went weird and just stood out side of my TC's range for the duration of the time left (about 2.3 min) i must have had about 50+ troops in my base just doing nothing

as for a strat try upgrading your walls and towers maybe even wall of your TC an put guard-towers arou8nd it that way if they do get in it will take slightly longer to get to your TC

|||I'm also having difficulty with this quest. It's much harder than the Greek 15 minute defense quest. I would appreciate any tips or tricks from those who have successfully completed it.|||Same here. Managed to kill the elephant but lost all my troops doing it and by then the masses were destroying my barracks and had taken down my walls on two sides. TC was destroyed with about 3 1/2 minutes to go. :(
|||

i dont really see the problems in this quest. for me, half of the army stood in the open wall and do nothing.

make a lot of axeman and shott the eles with the towers and tc.

EDIT: yay my 200. post

|||

Sounds like the players with 'no problem' with this one have the AI acting dysfunctionally. It was fully functional against me.

I have tried it 3 times and have made it to 3 minutes left once, other two times about 4 or 4:30. I am at level 8, I really kept my economy pumping, tried repairing walls, had 4 additional towers and tons of slingers behind the walls, but there is no way i can see to accomplish this with my current level of gear and tech.

After being able to advance to Age 3 it might be easier, can upgrade towers and walls there. (I dont know for sure, never specced wall upgrades), get some better armory upgrades and unit upgrades and a second TC, but I dont think it is possible nowif the AI attacks like it has for me with large waves of spearmen taking down the walls followed by groups of camels and elephants.

|||No gandalf you're wrong, i did this quest with no problem and full pop 140/140 in just spamming slingers, i didn't even make wall, only slingers, ai acted normally, you just play it wrong.
|||

i´ve been able to complete this quest

key for me where upgraded walls slingers and 4 tririmes in the pond :)

|||

easy to beat - just used one of the epic merc groups :)

But even upgrading (never used them, so did not realize this was Age 2) & repairingwalls and spamming slingers both baracks nonstop, they still came thru my walls when the mass assult started

Some *insert flattering comment* guy at RTS-Sanctuary put his two cents in here:http://rts-sanctuary.com/index.php?portal=RTS&showtopic=204934&pid=2253424&st=0&#entry2253424

Here's the quote:

Plasticcaz(yes that's me! lol )said:
Okay! I finally finished it! Yippee!!!!!! I had lots of trouble with this quest, but here's basically how I defeated it in the end. (NOTE: I do not have premium at this time, so this should work for any player, FTP or premium)

Here's my suggested build for non-premium players:

1. Before you enter the quest, make sure you have the first wall tech, Guard Towers, and watch towers (last one isn't necessary, but it helps)

2. When you enter, get a couple of villagers on food, build more villagers, set your priest on the town centre. (at least at first).

3. Don't worry about building troops, you will want to focus all your efforts on continually building villagers on primarily wood and stone. Divide your archers that you start off with to just behind wall at the south and north positions. (or wherever you feel you need them.) Consider using your scout to distract invaders outside your wall, but don't waste to much time managing him. (use shift click to give him multiple orders, like a waypoint click.)

4. Get some of your villagers on gold early on so you can unlock the +50% wall hitpoint tech. After you get the upgrade, you shouldn't need any more gold.

5. Build Guard towers around your Town Centre focussing expecially to the south, as this is where they will likely break through full force. Build as many as you can. Consider building a market, so you can buy\sell to get more stone to build more towers.

6. Hope for the best! Once you run out of stone, build watch towers near your town centre too. The AI is dumb, and will attack those first. Scouts and villagers make good target practice for the Badari invaders too!*Evil Grin*

Hope this works for you! If at first you don't succeed, try to get a better economy. With a better economy, you can build more towers, more villagers to distract the enemy, etc.

Don't worry if they breach the wall, if you follow the above steps, you should be fine.

This may not be the best way, but it works! Trust me, this is how I got through it!
Edit: At your own discretion, repair the wall if you can, but it's not that bad if you've prepared well. ;-D Good luck!|||

Build some ships in the little pond, and then put a wall post between that tent and the town center. I had some break my wall down, so I built a walla cross so they would be stopped from getting at my town center. Funny, they never walked around the pond to the other side where I had no wall.

The ships take care of the men that break through the little crack between that tent and your town center (where the farm is). Keep your ships away from the computer so you don't loose them lol.

That's a great idea Catalope!

It's so obvious!

|||

Well, I finally completed it.

My survival tips?

Consumable Bandit Towers; Guard Towers; and repairing the walls in between waves.

|||Same problem will use that tutorial, but for DEVELOPERS make this quest easier
|||its pretty much the only hard quest i have played so far :)
