I'm wondering what the best start is for the usual 5 villagers 200 food 150 wood spawn is. Usually what I do is que up 4 villagers on berries then send my starting 5 to get 50 more wood before putting them on food to age up.
What does everyone else do to start? This is Greek by the way.
|||I do the exact opposite, but that doesn't mean it's right!
I usually put all starting villagers on berries and cue up 4 villagers and stick them on wood. I continue to create new villagers as more food gets collected, but after the first 4 created villagers have been allocated to wood, I put the newly created vills on berries. After I'm able to make 1 storehouse, I balance my food and wood assignments to try and reach the age up requirement simultaneously. This may result in a slower aging up, but I find it gets me set up with a good amount of vills going forward.
I don't know if this is efficient or not, but it works for me!
It really depends on the quest, although I wouldn't ever really put all of my initial villagers on wood. The reason for this is you need food to build more villagers.
I think a nice balanced build for the start is:
4 on food, 1 on wood.
Next 2 on wood.
Next 2 on gold.
This way you have a steady income of all resources from the start allowing you to build more villagers, a barracks and even some infantry right at the start of the game. (If the quest already provides you with a barracks you could go 4 on food 1 on gold from the start) You could even put 1 on stone as your 10th villager and this way you should be able to build a tower as soon as you get to stage 2, or maybe a little after depending on when you decide to age up.
I'm not saying this is the end all, best build in the game, but it's a nice easy way to start for a well balanced beginners build. :)
