Bugged quest: Hector must fall

Goal: Kill Hector and 10 of his elite guards.

You are able to kill hector but the counter for the elite guards remains on 1/10, tried it in co-op and solo and the same issue happens. Due to this I cannot advance on the Troy campaign.

|||Sometimes the Elite Guard can be scattered on the map. You may have to scout the entire map to find packs of the elite guard (sometimes hiding in packs of two or three).
|||I checked the whole map and killed everyone, they are also the ones attacking and when killed don't count towards the counter.

This happened to me once. Only 5 champions when I needed 6. Scouted the map and killed everything.

I had to restart the quest, and then it worked OK.

FIX 1: Log out and Log back in.

FIX 2: Abandon quest and pick it up again.

I have gotten my self into a lot of bugged quests but doing either FIX 1 or FIX 2, always worked for me.

I am having the same issue. I have tried logging out then logging back in... abandoning the quest, re-accepting and so on.

I am loving this game, but these quest bugs are happening a lot and it's starting to get extremely aggravating.

|||I fully exited the game, then reloaded, abandoned a few other quests, then did Hector must Fall again and I'm 3/10 right now. Seems to have fixed it.
|||Can someone provide a good strategy for this quest please. I have tried turtling up to soak up Troy's constant attacks, as well as trying to rush them. Each time I am massively overwhelmed! Did anyone else have difficultys?|||

yeah, I need to know the trick to this one as well...

I'm getting overwhelmed by waves of elite guards before I even have a chance to mine enough stone for a decent wall.. like 3 waves of enemies before the 2min mark.

I died on this one 3 or 4 times before I got it. I don't think you will ever successfully build a wall before you get over run. I would recommend you defend your base with an army early game, not a wall.

When I was able to succeed, I barely held off their first 3 or 4 waves of attacks, but lost almost my entire army in the process. However, once I lived to that point of the game my economy was so robust I was able to produce 200/200 armies pretty quickly and the win was easy from there. You just have to survive those first few attacks, and for me it was easier with an army.

Thanks... I tried mass-producing spears from the start instead of wall-building, but it still ends the same way.. by the time I've created 10 or so spears, the first wave rolls in and wipes out almost every unit, then a second wave is right on their heels... don't even have time to spit out an additional 5 spears before the buildings are gone..

This is stupid hard.

|||Yeah I totally agree! I am an RTS vet, but I can't seem to beat this one. I managed to build up a decent dual wall defense, with around 30 or so archers, surving for around 5 or 6 waves of the little sods. Eventually though, they just obliterated my walls and towers. Usually, I would try and rebuild my army etc, but there isn't a lot of stone/gold available on the map.

I too tried the early on army, but seeing as you only have spearmen available, they are no match for the enemy.

Out of interest Strayfuzzytoad, what level are you? Im level 16, and im finding it impossible. Probably tried 10 times now. Nerf please :)|||

Last time I tried it I was level 18.. I'm about to hit 20, then I'll try it again.

|||Weird this quest isn't even that hard imo
